Damayanti Debnath

Damayanti is an interdisciplinary artist with over five years of creative practice, following her academic training in visual arts. She completed her BFA at the College of Art and Design, University of Burdwan (2016), and her MFA from S. N. School of Arts and Communication, Central University of Hyderabad (2018). Damayanti’s work seamlessly transitions from painting to installation art, video, sound, and text, utilizing ‘space’ as her canvas. Her broad-ranging practice also includes collaborations with performance artists and traditional artisans, further enriching her material aesthetics. Her work has been recognized at the KHOJ International Artist Residency (2018), and she has participated in public art events and international exhibitions. In 2024, her work will be featured in the group show Baroda Buzz at Gallery Art Positive, Delhi, Trilogy at LATITUDE 28 and was previously shown at The Poetics of the Everyday at Apre, Mumbai. Damayanti’s art explores human connection, material transformation, and the fluidity of visual mediums.
