Aroosa Naz Rana

(b. 1980)

Aroosa Naz Rana (b. 1980, Lahore, Pakistan) completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts from National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan. She solo exhibited her works at Rohtas Gallery II, Lahore in 2007 and participated in various group shows at Canvas Gallery, Karachi in 2009, Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq Gallery in 2005, VM Gallery Karachi 2004 and Alhamra Art Gallery in 2004. Her works display an abundance of still and moving images, cameras, television and computer monitors, I-pads and laptops with their built in web cams and reflective surfaces of many other objects which are part of our lives, and are all around us than ever before. These simultaneous visual experiences make us live in a mirage of so many realities existing at the same time. These works are about her interest in documenting these realities, which we, either intentionally or unintentionally, cross over at ease frequently in our daily lives.
